Baked sweet potato fries are a tasty and much healthier alternative to your traditional French Fries. Sweet potatoes are a great source of vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin B6, and potassium, just to name a few of their nutrients. They are considered anti-cancer superfoods with a variety of health benefits.
- 2 sweet potatoes
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp oil of your choice
- 1/2 tsp paprika (smoked paprika is used in video)
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- salt and black pepper to taste
Cut the sweet potatoes into even fries using a sharp knife. Put them into a large plastic Ziploc with a little bit of air in it, or a big bowl if a plastic bag is not available. Add in cornstarch and mix so that fries are evenly coated (if in bag, put it into the bag and shake). Add in oil and repeat. Do the same with the rest of the spices (types and quantities can be altered based on flavor preferences). Place on cookie sheet lined with aluminum foil and bake at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for around 30 minutes (check them occasionally; they are done when the edges are slightly browned).
